April 24 is World YWCA Day, when YWCAs across the globe celebrate the network we belong to and the work we share in uplifting women. This year's theme is "Find Your Voice, Share Your Story." Established in 1947 as the Annual YWCA Membership Celebration, World YWCA Day took on its current name and present focus on being part of a global movement in 1972.

April is National Financial Literacy Month and we'd like to take a moment to shine a light on our Economic Resilience Initiative.

For all of April, we have the special opportunity to celebrate the hard work of volunteers everywhere, especially those that dedicate their time to YWCA. We appreciate our volunteers no matter the time of year, but take this month to especially recognize the many ways they contribute to YWCA’s mission.

April 10 was all Women's Equal Pay Day, the day women's earnings "catch up" to men's earnings from the previous year. After decades of fighting, equal pay is better than what it has been in the past, however, we have not yet reached total equity for all women. In honor of this day, we share below some of what we're reading about Equal Pay Day.

Today is Women’s Equal Pay Day, the metaphorical date on which women have finally made as much money as white men made last year. So if every white man had stopped being paid on January 1, today would mark the day that women, working all the way through the last four months, finally match the 2017 salary of men.
