This January, the 2019 Washington state legislative session begins, and YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish is supporting eight bills to further our mission to eliminate racism and empower women. Transgender Day of Remembrance, also known as the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, is observed annually on November 20 as a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to draw attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.

Last night we celebrated the achievements of our GirlsFirst program and members at our Shades of Leadership event. The evening was filled with jazz and empowerment as we honored GirlsFirst students.
