Mariam Ahmed
A proud community college transfer student, Mariam graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Public Policy and an emphasis in health policy, political institutions and processes.
Mariam brings experience in competing and teaching high school policy speech & debate. She has organized and lobbied for communities around housing, healthcare, poverty, and other social issues.
Mariam works to alleviate institutional barriers through policy change. She believes in collaborating and centering voices in the community to effectively create meaningful systemic transformation.
Mariam Ahmed is the Public Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at YWCA. She works on state & local advocacy to advance YWCA's legislative priorities while engaging with community. A California native and community organizer at heart, Mariam focuses on the intersections of poverty and creating meaningful change.
