YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish is preparing for another milestone in our mission to house the most vulnerable in our community by redeveloping YWCA’s Lexington Concord Apartments, located in the heart of Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.
Key partners on this project are SMR Architects, Truebeck Construction, and JH Brawner. This project is funded by the City of Seattle Housing Levy, Washington State Department of Commerce Housing Trust Fund, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits allocated by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.
YWCA will break ground on a new construction with 83 units of primarily two- and three-bedroom family-size apartments in a seven-story building located at 2402 2nd Ave, near parks, transit, jobs and shopping.
After redevelopment, this site will continue serving low-income households while doubling its impact with more units and larger apartments, allowing YWCA to deliver safe and affordable housing to a greater number of local women and families.
The timeline begins June 2026; demolition of the existing building starting in the summer, then new building construction in the fall, which is expected to last approximately 22 months. The building is anticipated to be ready for lease by August 2028.
