Road to Recovery - Nonprofit Sector

Our CEO Maria Chavez-Wilcox joins a panel of nonprofit leaders in conversation with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

While all businesses have been affected by the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, the nonprofits in our state are especially vulnerable as state and local budget contributes are cut and charitable giving decreases. But many of these organizations are also crucial in supporting our community through the provision of food and shelter, mental health resources, childcare, and more.

Join us to hear how some local nonprofits like YWCA are managing funding deficits, how they have pivoted to meet changing needs in the community, and what they need to ensure a successful recovery.

Panelists include:

  • Maria Chavez-Wilcox, Chief Executive Officer, YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish
  • Angela Dunleavy, Chief Executive Officer, FareStart
  • Sara Levin, Vice President of Community Services, United Way of King County
  • Jodi Nishioka, Executive Director, Communities Rise
  • Ceil Erickson, Director of Nonprofit Relations, Seattle Foundation (moderator)
