2020 Housing & Homelessness Advocacy Day

Join YWCA in Olympia for Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Day to push for more affordable housing!
We need our officials to understand that the homelessness crisis MATTERS, and that the first step to ending homelessness is enough affordable housing!
YWCA will be working together with the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance to bring YWCA staff, program participants, and community members together for Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Day (HHAD) on Monday, February 3, 2020.
HHAD will include workshops, rallies, and pre-arranged meetings with our lawmakers. Our plan is to have program participants visit lawmakers together as “one community and one voice,” supporting affordable housing for all.
2020 HHAD SCHEDULE (this is subject to change)
6:00 am – Bus departs from Pathways for Women
7:00 am – Bus Departs from Phillis Wheatley Branch
8:15 am – 8:45 am – Arrive at Washington Center for the Performing Arts
8:45 am – 3:00 pm – Meetings with Legislators
11:45 am – 12:15 pm – Rally For Homes!
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – Lunch
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Debrief Station
2:30 pm – YWCA to board bus
3:00 pm – Departure Time
5:00 pm – Arrive at YWCA Phillis Wheatley
6:00 pm – Arrive at Pathways for Women
6:00 am – Bus departs from Pathways for Women
7:00 am – Bus Departs from Phillis Wheatley Branch

Please ensure program participants send the REQUIRED RSVP to Mindy Woods below.
Staff can bring program participants in their vehicles on THIS DAY ONLY. Staff are welcome to bring participants up to the Phillis Wheatley site for a bus departure at 7:00 am
