Migee Han joins YWCA as its Chief Philanthropy Officer

The former Managing Director of Sightline Institute brings years of experience to local nonprofit

SEATTLE, WA – Following a six-month  national search, YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish has announced that Migee Han will be joining the organization as its Chief Philanthropy Officer in October, overseeing the fund development strategy for the second-largest YWCA association in the nation. This newly created position will formulate and manage a sustainable and ethical fundraising plan to increase revenue in support of YWCA’s strategic direction.

Han comes to YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish following nearly a decade of work at Sightline Institute, an independent, nonprofit think tank focused on sustainability solutions to benefit communities in the Northwest. While at Sightline Institute, she grew the base of individual donors by nearly 40-percent, developed a stewardship program that increased overall donor retention from 53- to 66-percent, and doubled the organization’s budget.

Attracted by YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, Han brings with her a strong background in leadership, strategic thinking, and communications. She received her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University and her Bachelors of Arts in Communications from University of Washington. In addition to her years at Sightline Institute, Han has also worked at the Pride Foundation, in addition to consulting for the Science Fiction Hall of Fame and the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition.

Han will join YWCA's executive leadership team and further the organization's commitment to racial and gender equity at every level. On a team of seven leadership staff, six are women and five are people of color.
