Domestic Violence Program Manager #8-0807

LOCATION:  Everett Regional Center/3301 Broadway, Everett 98201

REPORTS TO:  Regional Director, Snohomish County

DESCRIPTION: This position provides management, supervision, training and program planning for the YWCA’s Domestic Violence Services. Domestic Violence services include outreach and community education with regard to domestic violence; crisis intervention; legal advocacy; support groups; children’s services; individual counseling and information and referral. This position is required to assist with direct service on an as needed basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership and staff time in support of regional DV system coordination
  • Provides program planning, development and implementation for community advocacy  
  • programs
  • Assists in preparation of contracts, grant applications and proposals
  • Recruits, hires, supervise, schedules and trains the program’s direct service staff and volunteers
  • Provides training to other YWCA program staff as requested
  • Monitors program finances and assists with annual budget preparation
  • Responsible for program outcomes. Monitors progress toward contract goals and informs the Regional Director of proposed changes in services or outcomes
  • Prepares and monitors client, contract, program and administrative reports and files
  • Responsible for participation by YWCA staff on local and regional domestic violence task forces
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with other providers of domestic violence services
  • Responsible for service coordination and collaboration with other YWCA programs and other service providers
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with other community social service organizations
  • Promotes and publicizes the YWCA throughout Snohomish County
  • Provides emergency back up to staff on an on-call basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in social services or related field and at least three years of direct social service experience working with domestic violence survivors and low-income and/or homeless women or Bachelor Degree with at least 5 years of direct service experience
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Must have at least 50 hours of Domestic Violence issues and advocacy-based counseling within 3 years prior to providing staff supervision
  • Must have reliable transportation and insurance and ability to travel to multiple sites in a day
  • Demonstrated success to manage multiple governmental contracts and meet outcomes
  • Knowledge and commitment to working with issues of domestic violence
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and as a part of a team and to make sound judgments without on-site supervision
  • Knowledge and experience as a service provider with the following: anti-racist issues, domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, mental health, welfare rights, case management, sexual assault, child development and positive parenting skills
  • Knowledge of domestic violence resources in Snohomish County
  • Must have valid WSDL, ability to travel to multiple sites

HOURS, RATE, BENEFITS

  • Part-time exempt, with possibility of increasing to full time, exempt

  • Evening, weekend, and on-call hours may occasionally be required
