permanent housing stability program:
PHSP is a five-year project which provides subsidized permanent housing for large (4-8), low-income families currently residing in shelter or transitional housing programs.
Since 2008, The YWCA has partnered with the Seattle Housing Authority and a private landlord to provide 13 permanent housing units. Families are assisted with stabilizing their housing and gainful employment to become financially independent and eventually manage market value rental cost upon completion of the five year period.
eligibility: Applicants must be referred by their current shelter or transitional housing case manager; exhibit 3-6 months of progressive case management; highly motivated and committed to working towards personal goals specifically employment, education and housing stability; annual income must be within the 30% of AMI; willing to work with Family Advocate; must be 18 yrs of age; no criminal charges within 2 yrs. must have the ability to maintain permanent housing without close supervision including adequate supervision of one's children.
